Mon Oct 17, 2011 2:47pm EDT (Reuters) – The Earth’s natural resources like food, water and forests are being depleted at an alarming speed, causing hunger, conflict, social unrest and species extinction, experts at a climate and health conference in London warned Monday. Increased hunger due to food yield changes will lead to malnutrition; water scarcity will deteriorate hygiene; pollution will weaken immune systems; and displacement and social disorder due to conflicts over water and land will increase the spread of infectious diseases, they said. Our world is in such disarray – on one hand there are people with unimaginable wealth while on the other side there are thousands dying each day of hunger, disease and war. We don’t go to sleep hungry fearing for our lives as bombs and missiles rain down..Actually some people do go to bed hungry even in Canada and USA, some people including children don’t have beds to sleep in, there are people without jobs and health care and families break up over finances. Pollution is killing our planet and life on it while companies reap financial reward of such actions.. There are many thing we have to right if we are to survive, first thing is that we have to unite in a belief that we can do better, that we have an obligation to each of our brothers and sisters to do better…Before it’s to late..
